It’s true that the business world is always changing, and you need visionary leadership to get through it. Market forces, changes in technology, or changes within the company can all make things hard for senior leaders.
Transformative change usually has to do with:
Disruption: Change that breaks down established rules and ways of doing things. Not sure about the results or what will happen in the long run.
Resistance: when stakeholders get in the way because they don’t want to go through the changes.
Strategies for Leading Change:
Give a brief description of the vision.
Say what the change is and what it will mean.
Make it easy for people to talk about their worries and questions so that trust and alignment can grow.
Engage stakeholders as soon as possible:
Involve important people in the planning stage.
Listen to what people say and change your plans if you need to.
Make your culture ready for change. Encourage people to be open to or aware of the need for follow-up changes and ongoing improvement in the organization.
Leveraging and Insights Data. Use frameworks to help you make choices and see how well changes are working. Tracking certain performance data will show you areas that may need to be fixed.
Stay Strong. Keep the bigger, longer-term picture in mind when things get tough in the short term. Hold celebration events to show support and recognition to make teams more resilient.
